2016 Ford EcoSport chassis has been tuned slightly, expect changes to come to India as well
The Ford EcoSport turned out to be the most hyped vehicle to most sold Ford vehicle till date when it was launched a couple of years ago. The Ford EcoSport has been the pinnacle of the compact SUV throughout the world, forcing manufacturers to reply to this global car which is Ford making. Made in India and sold to the rest of the world in subtle changes it has been acclaimed well in the market thanks to lower costs the Ford EcoSport offers while buying and after buying through cheap and cheerful servicing.
The 2016 Ford EcoSport model is all set to revive the passion of the SUV enthusiast in India as this model as we know slated for launch in Mid 2016. The biggest change on the Ford EcoSport is that the tailgate looses the spare wheel mount which now makes it just look a hatchback on steroids and looses muscular and SUV appeal.

On the inside though, there are more features such as satellite navigation, chrome treatment here and there. Leather seats and all black theme could be continued in India or else a major overhaul could see beige and brown coming in just like the upcoming Ford Figo Aspire. Charcoal black could be one of the colors that could come to India soon.
Mechanically, the steering and suspension has been slightly tuned and coil-overs are now lowered by 10mm. All of this should make the Ford EcoSport fun to drive as well, reason? The engine now produces more power than before. The diesel Ford EcoSport now has 95 PS instead of 90 PS which should lug around the slightly heavy weight of the vehicle well. The 1.0L Ecoboost and naturally aspirated, Ti-VCT petrol engine remains unchanged and come with the same gearbox as well.
Expected prices to be slightly higher as more kit is being thrown along with improvement to the mechanics. Ford Ecosport is best considered value in low to mid variants. Top-end variants have class leading features and can compete with rivals above a segment as space and engine on them are quite similar.
