Hyundai Verna registered 6,054 units in September 2017 as it overtook City and Ciaz sedans that recorded 6,010 and 5,603 units respectively
Hyundai Verna has outsold its two closest rivals in the midsize sedan segment, the Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. In September 2017, the Hyundai Verna registered 6,054 units, while the Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz recorded 6,010 units and 5,603 units respectively. Also, Hyundai Verna has registered a whopping 411% growth last month, compared to September 2016 sales.
This clearly shows how the third generation model has been able to boost the sales of the Verna. In September last year, the sedan registered 1,185 units. On the other hand, Honda City also experienced sales boost of 3% last month compared to the same month last year when it sold 5,855 units. The facelift for the sedan has worked positively.

While the Hyundai Verna has been able to grab such an impressive sales result and Honda City too recorded growth, things are not very amusing for the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. While the car was ruling the segment last year with 6,544 units, its sales dipped by 14% last month and that too right ahead of the festive season.
Speaking about the Hyundai Verna, it comes with a completely revised appearance at exterior and inside the cabin as well. The third generation model has become much more stylish and appealing compared to the previous version. It carries several class leading features that give it an edge over the rivals.

Speaking about the decline in the sales number of the Ciaz sedan, it can be said that lacking several features compared to its rivals have played crucial role behind the dip. Also, price hike due to the GST too has affected the sales of this popular midsize sedan that is sold through the automaker’s premium retail network Nexa. Maruti is currently working on the facelifted Ciaz that is expected to be launched in the country in near future.
