Hyundai Venue is the latest sub-4m compact SUV launched in the Indian market and it has Ford EcoSport as one of its biggest rivals
Ford EcoSport is the model that made the sub-4m compact SUV segment popular in India. However, over the years, competition has increased by quite a lot. Hyundai Venue and Ford EcoSport belong to the sub-4m family, which is why they have almost identical dimensions.
Ford EcoSport Vs Hyundai Venue exterior dimensions
The Ford EcoSport is a little bigger in size. It measures 3,998mm in length in comparison of 3,995mm of the length of Hyundai Venue. The Hyundai Venue is, however, slightly wider than the Ford EcoSport and measures 1,770mm against the EcoSport’s 1,765mm. The Ford EcoSport is taller by 42mm and measures 1,647mm while the Venue gets only 1,605mm of height.

It should also be noted the Ford EcoSport has a longer wheelbase and measures 2,519mm than the Hyundai Venue’s 2,500mm wheelbase. The EcoSport gets a higher ground clearance of 200mm which is full 10mm higher than the Hyundai Venue. The Ford EcoSport also offers a maximum tyre size of 17-inch adding a sporty look to the vehicle.
Comparing the boot space, the EcoSport and the Hyundai Venue offer almost the same size. The EcoSport gets the second largest boot in the segment with 352-litres of space while the Hyundai Venue gets 350 litres of boot space. That’s not all, going on long-distance drives, the EcoSport offers a larger fuel tank at 52 litres while the Venue can officially hold a maximum fuel of 45-litres.

Both the cars get three engine options – two petrol and one diesel. The Hyundai Venue offers a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine that generates a maximum power of 83 PS and peak torque of 115 Nm.
It gets a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The EcoSport gets a much more powerful 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates a maximum of 123 PS and 150 Nm. It gets a choice of manual and automatic transmission.
