Hyundai Venue is sold in three engine options with the most powerful being the 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor paired with a seven-speed DCT
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) launched the Venue less than two weeks ago with an aggressive starting price of Rs. 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom) after making global debut at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. It competes against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and Honda WR-V.
The South Korean auto major is expecting a big pie out of this hotly contested segment with the Venue and has thrown everything at it. The Venue is packed with features right from the base variant and the global design language adapted has been another advantage of the five-seater to garner a young audience.

The Venue is sold with three engine options – a 1.0-litre turbo GDI petrol pushing out 120 PS and 172 Nm, a 1.2-litre MPI petrol developing 83 PS and 115 Nm and a 1.4-litre diesel good enough for 90 PS and 220 Nm. Hyundai is expected to deliver more than 15,000 units of the Venue by July and the powerful turbo petrol has been the most desired among customers.
It is mated to either a six-speed manual or a segment-first seven-speed DCT transmission. Due to the presence of three powertrains, the Venue has a wide range that extends up to Rs. 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom) and the naturally aspirated engines are paired with manual gearboxes only.
Some of the key driver assistance and safety features in the Venue are six airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill Assist Control, Brake Assist System, etc. Endorsed as the connected SUV, the Venue’s unique feature has to be the Blue Link connectivity with embedded Vodafone-Idea SIM card giving access to 33 in-car connective features and of which 10 are specific for India.
