Hyundai Venue Vs Rivals Price – Vitara Brezza, Ecosport, XUV300, Nexon

Hyundai Venue Prices Undercut Those Of Nexon, Vitara Brezza, Ecosport & XUV300

Hyundai Venue launched in India in a price range of Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 11.10 lakh, it becomes the first compact SUV to get connected features in India

The 2019 Hyundai Venue launched in the country early this week. With this, India becomes the first market to receive the company’s smallest-ever Global SUV, with the new model going on sale in a price range of Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs 11.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan-India).

The new SUV comes with the company’s BlueLink connected features suite and even marks the debut of the 1.0-litre Turbo GDI petrol engine along with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Venue seems to be a highly promising model that could become quite a threat for its rivals, viz. Tata Nexon, Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport & XUV300. One of the biggest factors working in favour of the new SUV is its ultra-aggressive pricing, which undercuts that of all the above models.

This should really work in favour of the newcomer as India is a highly price-sensitive market and a difference of even a few thousand rupees can tilt the favour in a model’s benefit.

If you compare the pricing of the Hyundai Venue with the Tata Nexon, you will be quick to notice a small difference of Rs 3,000. However, if you compare the diesel top-end prices, the difference widens to Rs 7,000. While the top-end Venue diesel costs Rs 10.84 lakh*, the fully-loaded Nexon costs Rs 10.91 lakh*. From this, it is clear that in spite of the Nexon’s aggressive pricing, Hyundai has managed to obtain a slight advantage over the established rival.

The Hyundai Venue is even more affordable than the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The base Brezza costs Rs 7.78 lakh*, which is much higher than the entry-level model of the Venue. True, the Brezza carries a diesel engine, but even if you compare it with the base diesel version of the Venue, the former ends up being Rs 3,000 costlier.

Plus, going by the fast reducing gap in the prices of petrol and diesel, many would be tempted to choose a base petrol variant over the diesel-powered Brezza and save some money in the process.

The Ford EcoSport is a lot more expensive than the Hyundai Venue. It’s base model costs Rs 7.83 lakh, which is much higher than the starting price of the Venue. Even if you compare the base diesel models of the Venue and the EcoSport, there is a difference of Rs 67,000, which, we reckon, is enough to tilt the scales in the Venue’s favour.

What’s more, even if you compare the top-end 1.0-litre petrol automatic versions of the two models, the Venue enjoys a price advantage of Rs 28,000. Plus, let’s not forget that the EcoSport is a much older model that will be replaced by an all-new SUV next year.

Finally, the Hyundai Venue even ends up enjoying a cost advantage over the recently launched Mahindra XUV300. The most affordable variant of the XUV300 costs Rs 7.9 lakh*, which is substantially more than what the Venue costs.

Even the base and the top diesel models have a difference of Rs 74,000 and Rs 1.15 lakh, respectively. Hence, from all these comparisons, it’s clear that the new SUV holds a price advantage over the Tata Nexon, Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport & XUV300.

However, one must note that this comparison is merely of the prices and not of aspects like specs, dimensions and features. Hence, the buyers could be inclined to by any of the above models over the Venue in spite of their higher price tag.
