Upcoming Hyundai Venue will come with three engine options and it includes a new 1.0 L turbocharged petrol engine mated to DCT gearbox

Hyundai is going to reveal the much-awaited Venue sub-compact SUV at the New York Motor Show next month. Hyundai Venue will be introduced with three different engine options as it includes a new 1.0 L turbocharged petrol engine which is first for Hyundai in the Indian market along with 1.4 L naturally aspired petrol engine and 1.4 L diesel engine.

The 1.4 L petrol and diesel engines come from the Verna. The 1.0 L turbocharged petrol engine produces 100 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque. The power will be sent to front wheels and it is likely to be offered only with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which will make the Venue unique in its segment.

Ford had already offered dual-clutch transmission with EcoSport but the company discontinued the transmission and replaced it with a regular torque converter to keep pricing competitive. Hyundai is expected to offer the 1.0 L engine and 7-speed DCT combination in the top-spec models with all the bells and whistles.

The 1.4 L petrol engine produces 100 PS of power, which is similar to be the turbocharged engine but the torque output is at 132 Nm. The 1.4 L diesel engine also does duty on the Elite i20, Verna and Creta, this engine puts out 90 PS of power and 214 Nm of torque. The 1.4 L petrol and diesel engines are mated to 6-speed manual gearbox.

The design theme of Venue is expected to take inspirations from other models like the Kona and new Santa Fe as the front might split headlamps design and signature grille of Hyundai along with a muscular bumper and 17-inch alloy wheels. The rear will get LED tail lamps and an integrated spoiler at the rear. The company might offer dual-tone colour options also.
