Hyundai Venue will go on sale on May 21 and be offered with three engines choices; gets several segment-first features

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has commenced bookings for the upcoming Venue compact SUV today in the domestic market and it can be pre-ordered online or through dealerships. The Venue created plenty of interest well ahead of its official market debut on May 21 and it was showcased to the media on a cruise liner a few weeks ago while concurrently making its global premiere at the 2019 New York Auto Show.

The South Korean auto major assures early delivery for the Venue along with Rs. 2,000 cashback using HDFC credit/debit card and a chance to win a Hyundai car using SBI Yono application. The Venue is a global SUV and it will be sold in several developed countries including the United States.

The smallest SUV within the brand’s domestic as well as international portfolio is tasked with gaining high volume figures. It is no secret that Hyundai has been expanding and refreshing its SUV and crossover range to meet the modern demands of the customers elsewhere.

The five-seater has advanced high strength steel construction and it will be offered with a number of standard safety features including dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, reversing camera, front seatbelt reminder, speed sensing auto door lock and high-speed alert system. Hyundai banks on the Blue Link technology as it gives a clear advantage over rivals.

The Venue features an embedded SIM card giving access to 33 functionalities. The compact SUV takes power from three engine choices: an all-new 1.0-litre turbo GDI petrol, a 1.2-litre MPI petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel. The smaller petrol unit develops 120 PS and 172 Nm and is mated to segment-first seven-speed DCT automatic transmission.

A five-speed manual and a six-speed manual are connected to the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines respectively as Hyundai will be selling the Venue with a wide variety of option but the devoid of automatic transmission in diesel could be a downer. With a well sorted out exterior and an upscale interior, the Venue looks to take the fight to Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300.
