The base Venue has been spotted for the first time and it misses out on premium features like LED DRL, projector headlamps, alloy wheels and much more

Hyundai officially revealed the Venue compact SUV earlier this month in India and the global debut took place at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. The upcoming model will be launched in India on May 21 and the bookings for the compact SUV will commence from May 2 onwards. The Venue can be booked online as well.

The compact SUV base model has been spotted for the first time and it misses out on several features like LED DRLs which are replaced by a chrome line along with projector headlamps (regular halogen), fog lamps, hood mounted indicators and more. Instead of the alloy wheels, the base model comes with plastic covers.

Hyundai is offering integrated spoiler from base variant onwards along with rear fog lamps and reflectors. The interior might get substantial changes as the infotainment system is likely to be a 5-inch screen instead of 8-inch on top-spec models. This system might also miss out Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with other connectivity options.

But Hyundai will offer features like steering mounted controls, power windows, four-speaker, rear AC vents, manual outside door mirrors and a regular MID unit. The Venue is likely to be offered with standard safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert, rear parking sensors, driver and passenger seat belt alert.

The top-spec models come with 6 airbags, traction control system, electronic stability program, automatic headlamps, sunroof, projector headlamps with LED DRL, machine-cut alloy wheels, adjustable rear headrest, climate control, wireless charging pad, UBS charging ports, ventilated seats, push button, keyless entry and more. Hyundai-Venue-base-variant-spied-3

In India, the Venue will be powered by three engine options. The 1.0 L turbocharged petrol engine puts out 120 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque. The 1.4 L petrol engine produces 83 PS and 115 Nm while the 1.4 L diesel engine comes with 90 PS and 223 Nm. These engines are mated to a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT gearbox.
