Hyundai Posts Over 50,000 Unit Sales Domestically In June 2023

Hyundai posted a total of 65,601 units in the month of June 2023 as against 62,351 units during the same period last year with a YoY growth of 5.21 per cent

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has today announced its sales data for the month of June 2023. The second largest car producer in the country registered a total sales of 65,601 units last month. The total volume includes domestic sales of 50,001 units and 15,600 units in exports.

Compared to the previous month of June 2022 with 62,351 units, Hyundai posted a YoY positive volume increase of 5.21 per cent. In the local market, a total of 50,001 units were recorded against 49,001 units during the same period twelve months ago with a YoY sales growth of 2.04 per cent.

As for the exports, Hyundai managed a total of 13,350 units in June 2022 and thus compared to last month, a YoY growth of 16.85 per cent was noted. Speaking of the sales performance in June 2023, Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said:

The growing excitement amongst our valued customers for our upcoming SUV Hyundai EXTER is truly exhilarating and we look forward to introducing this benchmark SUV in India soon.”

The South Korean auto major has been enduring impressive sales numbers and it continues to be the second most sold carmaker last month. The brand will look to further increase its sales tally in the coming months as the Exter micro SUV will launch on July 10. It will be available in an expansive range and will compete against Tata Punch.

The Hyundai Exter will derive power from a 1.2L NA three-cylinder petrol engine developing a maximum power output of 84 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed AMT. Hyundai will offer a CNG variant of the Exter and the reservations have commenced already.
