Hyundai aims to grab a good share in performance car segment in US market; plan doesn’t include the i30 N launch

South Korean auto giant Hyundai is ready to launch its N performance badged cars in the US market next year. The company has already confirmed the launch of the performance oriented cars there. But it didn’t reveal which will be the first N badged model. However, speculations suggest that it could be some version of the Elantra or the Veloster even.

Interestingly, the Hyundai i30 N won’t be launched in the US market, as he brand has already confirmed. Hyundai says that US market is going to play a very crucial role for its N performance brand and with the launch of this sub-brand Hyundai aims to grab a greater share there.

The N performance brand has already garnered positive response from performance car enthusiasts from across the world. Sadly, the company doesn’t have any plan to launch the N performance brand in Indian market anytime soon. Despite being the second largest car brand here and having popularity, Hyundai didn’t show much interest to launch N badged cars here, even when demands for performance-oriented cars are increasing in the country. We hope the brand launches the N badged cars here in near future.

Hyundai unveiled the i20 N performance car back in 2015 and currently it is working on the i30 N that is ready to make its global debut later this year. Also, the Korean auto major is working on a N badged performance-oriented version of the Tucson SUV, as we have already reported about it.

The Hyundai i30 N comes as a much sportier and sharper version of the i20 N. Also, this will arrive with more power thanks to the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine is capable of churning out power output between 250 hp and 275 hp. Transmission duty would be done by a 6-speed manual gearbox and there would be an automatic gearbox as well.
