Hyundai Le Fil Rouge Concept mixes design ethos from the past, present and future and gives sneak peek of styling about to be followed in the upcoming models
Hyundai has revealed a new concept termed as Le Fil Rouge at the Geneva International Motor Show. It is a rather interesting design study to have come out of the South Korean manufacturer as it combines gloried designs of the classic years with present and future styling. Putting them altogether, it brings in the company’s Sensuous Sportiness theme.
It acts a crucial role in the future of Hyundai vehicles as far as design language is concerned right from sedans, hatchbacks and on to SUVs. Hyundai has affirmed that the Le Fil Rouge Concept and its design are to create an emotional value and desirability to the brand while having unison prosperity in technology and architecture as well.
Hyundai’s design chief Luc Donckerwolke has stated that the Le Fil Rouge Concept is a reinterpretation of the brand’s DNA that emerged from the iconic Hyundai Coupe Concept in 1974. Taking it as a basis and to continue Hyundai’s long history of developing distinctive vehicles with sporty character, the design study signals a new era.
The Le Fil Rouge Concept features sporty overall design with a sleek front end that looks nothing short of futuristic. It has big proportions with the long wheelbase ensuring a spacious interior. Other important elements are short overhangs, coupe-ish roofline, high belt line, long bonnet structure, heavily sloped windshield, etc.
It adorns proportions derived from “golden ratio” which is said to be a mathematical ratio found in nature while the dash-to-axle distance is claimed to allow comfortable driving position. The design on the inside bodes well with the exterior and is termed as Tube Architecture. Finished in beige and white theme, it is all the more futuristic with an eye-catching design.
Other significant interior bits are dual-way air ventilation, panoramic floating display with haptic feedback and use of advance fabric materials. The passenger seats are designed for maximum comfort while the driver’s seat is optimised for greater driving feel. The intriguing cabin enables a deep and spacious appeal.
