The i30 N is the third car to join the Hyundai N lineup and promises both performance and practicality at the same time

Hyundai has finally revealed the i30 N fastback which is the third body style based on the i30. The i30 N Fastback will take on the rivals like Audi A3 Saloon and Mazda 3 Fastback in the International market. This model will carry the N logo with it and will be the sportier version of the standard i30 Fastback.

The prototype was caught testing in a number of occasions earlier at the Nordschleife circuit at the Nurburgring in Germany before releasing the final version. The i30 N Fastback is the third model after the five-door i30 N and the Veloster N to join the lineup.

The car showcased some sporty characteristics which set it apart from the standard variant. The changes made to the exterior include a new bolder N grille along with a revised front and rear bumpers. The Fastback also gets dual exhaust pipes and an F1 inspired triangular fog lamps.

The top spec model will be receiving a bigger 19-inch alloy wheel wrapped in high-performance Pirelli P Zero tires. The other mechanical updates include electronically controlled limited slip differential, adaptive dampers and also a complete sports exhaust system.

Under the hood, the i30 Fastback N uses the same 2.0-litre turbocharged unit which powers the i30 N as well. This engine is said to generate around 271 Bhp of peak power and an equally impressive 260 lb of torque. If we talk about its performance figures then this five-door coupe will hit the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in just 6.1 seconds after you floor the throttle.

Although the car gets sportier cosmetic and performance upgrades Hyundai says that this is a practical car which is meant to be driven. Along with performance, the i30 N Fastback is also practical because it also offers an impressive 450-liter boot capacity which can be expanded to 1351-litre when the rear seats are folded. Although this won’t make it to the Indian market anytime soon however you would definitely find them on the European roads from early 2019 onward.
