Hyundai Exter Crosses 50,000 Bookings In Under A Month Since Launch

Hyundai Exter has gone past the 50,000 booking milestone in India and is loaded with top notch safety features right from the base variant

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has today announced that the recently launched Exter has crossed the 50,000 booking milestone. The micro SUV made its market debut on July 10, 2023 with an attractive starting price of Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Thus, in less than a month since its launch the milestone has been reached.

Speaking on the announcement, Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “With Hyundai EXTER, we have continued our pursuit of democratizing advanced technology, superior quality, next-gen features, safety and comfort for customers.” Underlining its popularity, the reservations have gone past the 10,000 mark before the launch to 50,000 units in under a month.

The five-seater comes with top-notch safety features as standard including six airbags. As an option, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management and hill assist control are available across all trim levels. Hyundai has noted that 75 per cent of the total bookings are for the variants equipped with an electric sunroof.

The Hyundai Exter comes with 20 segment-first features and is offered with 3 years or unlimited km warranty along with an option of 7 years extended warranty. It is sold with six single-tone and three dual-tone colour schemes. More than one-third of the total bookings are for the automatic variant, which is available with industry-first AMT with a paddle shifting function.

The Hyundai Exter is retailed in EX, S, SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect grades with the CNG version offered in S and SX trims, hooked with a five-speed manual transmission only. It derives power from a 1.2L four-cylinder NA Kappa petrol engine producing around 82 PS maximum power and 113.8 Nm of peak torque. It is linked with a five-speed MT or a five-speed AMT.

It is based on the same platform as the Grand i10 Nios and Aura. The SUV competing against Tata Punch is packed with features on the inside such as a touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity options, a steering wheel with mounted controls, a digital instrument console, wireless smartphone charger, adjustable headrests, and a lot more.
