The spy images of the new Hyundai Elantra sport variant have been snapped at a dealership. It will be based on the sixth generation Elantra tipped to enter India this year. Having spotted numerous times in South Korean soil, this is the first set of images giving a clearer look at the exterior of the Sport variant.

It points towards an imminent launch in South Korean market as they have been caught at a dealership. One of the cars features a silver paint job and the other sporting a golden and yellowish colour scheme. To distinguish the Hyundai Sport variant from the stock model, the front fascia has been fitted with tweaks to headlamps.

The air vents are larger alongside the LED Daytime Running Lights and the wheel arches are flared with bigger alloy wheels wrapped around by the low profile tyres. All these appear to be part of a sporty body kit and the side skirts have a subtle design. The bumpers have also endured revisions up front and back and there’s an integrated diffuser with restyled tail lamps and sporty dual exhaust system.

It is believed to get power from the 1.6-litre, four cylinder, T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine taken from the Hyundai Veloster Turbo. The powertrain comes mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The independent rear suspension could be installed to provide better car handling.
