Hyundai Aims To Sell 5.50 Lakh Cars In India This Year

Hyundai Verna to play crucial role in overall yearly sales for the brand with around 5,000 units of average monthly sales

Hyundai India is aiming to sell 5.50 lakh units of cars in this year, surpassing last year’s half a million mark. The company is greatly relying on the success of the next generation Verna midsize sedan that has earned pretty good response within short period of time thanks to the refreshed design, upmarket class leading features.

In the very first month the Hyundai Verna sedan has registered around 4,800 units and the Korean auto major is eyeing to sell around 5,000 units on an average every month. In that case, Hyundai Verna will help the brand to achieve its target to sell around 5.50 lakh cars in the country in this year. As the festive season is almost here and this period always brings sales surge for the automakers in the country, Hyundai too is expecting to see a retail boost with various offers and discounts.

Interestingly, despite being the closest competitor against market leader Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai is keen to retain its 17% present market share in line with overall industry growth instead of increasing it further. The company is focusing on bringing new products with exciting design and technologies.

Hyundai is also emphasising on increasing Customer relationship Management in order to retain its existing customer base and also to lure the new buyers towards it. As the brand says, it is focusing on using various social network mediums to engage the customer.

In 2018 only, Hyundai will launch a compact hatchback that will be positioned between the Eon and Grand i10 upon its arrival in second half of 2018. Apart from that, the auto major will also introduce a compact SUV derived from the Carlino concept that was displayed at 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo.

Besides introducing these attractive products, Hyundai is also focusing on its dual-pedal technology across the portfolio strategy. The upcoming hatchback is expected to play a crucial role in boosting the strategy as it will house an indigenously developed AMT.
