Hyosung GD450 Prototype Is here to challenge the KTM DUke 390
Hyosung is one and infact the only brand who has been challenging the mighty KTM Since day one. Every since the launch of the KTM Duke 200 took place, Hyosung was at it and made a motorcycle that would go against it. Then came the Duke 390 and Hyosung has done it again. After two years, it has come with a genuine KTM Duke 390 rival.
A 450cc rival from Hyosung is all set to change them game. However, only when it comes to India. Because the 250cc also never made it to Indian shores and we will see only when this Hyosung GD450 will make it.
Hyosung GD450 is powered a 449cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine that produces 50 PS of maximum power at 7500 RPM and 47.7 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. Engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox putting the power down to the rear wheels.
This engine has to be the second largest high capacity single cylinder engine in the world. First is obviously the KTM Duke 690. When it comes to chassis, it has a Trellis frame. Suspension is segment standard 41 mm USD forks at the front, a dual sided aluminum swing-arm with an horizontally mounted gas charged monoshock mounted on it.
When it comes to braking, the Hyosung GD450 gets a 300 mm disc four piston caliper at the front and 230 mm disc dual piston caliper at the rear. The Hyosung GD450 gets 17-inch wheels and at the front a 120 section tyre while the rear gets 160 section high quality rubber on it. ABS will be standard.
Hyosung GD450 is said to be still in prototype phase. Six months or 12 month later down the production will begin and then we can expect India launch and rival the king of the segment KTM Duke 390. Hyosung will also launch all updated models such as the 300cc motorcycles and this should follow next year.
