Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 comes with a rugged and aggressive appearance, shares chassis and engine with Vitpilen 401

Husqvarna has taken cover off its new bikes at EICMA 2016 in Milan, Italy. Among the new models Svartpilen 401 has grabbed the everyone’s attention with its rugged and aggressive style. The bike shares its design and components with the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, which has been unveiled at EICMA 2016 as well. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has been designed keeping the everyday functionality in mind, while sportiness is also there.

Like the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, the Svartpilen 401 is also based on lightweight steel trellis frame. It gets a round LED headlamp with circular LED daytime running light, giving the bike’s front a very attractive look. Apart from that, the round single-pod instrument cluster with a LCD display is also there. The T-shaped 9.5-litre fuel tank gets a luggage rack on it, while short rear sub-frame, split seats with high quality fabric and sleek LED taillight enhance its sporty character. The exhaust muzzle of the bike also gets a protective covering on it.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 comes equipped with wider motocross-styled handlebars, giving rider more control over the machine. It runs on 17-inch spoke wheels wrapped in meaty Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. Along with functionality Husqvarna has given the bike robust protection as well, which is seen in form of the skid plate.

Power source for Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is the same 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine borrowed from the KTM Duke 390. The same engine is available in Svartpilen 401’s sibling Vitpilen 401 as well. This fuel-injected engine is capable to churn out 43 bhp of peak power and 37 Nm of peak torque.

The Svartpilen 401 gets WP suspension set-up like Vitpilen 401. For braking duty the bike is equipped with 320mm front disc and 230mm rear disc brakes combined with Bosch dual-channel ABS. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is expected to launch sometime in 2018.
