Honda Shuttle is a 5 Seater Station wagon based on Honda City platform, offers 570-Litres boot space

Note: Previously, by mistake we published the Shuttle patent image as BR-V patent image

This May, Honda Shuttle launched in Japan at a starting price of Rs.8.97 Lakhs, it seems Honda is thinking to introduce Shuttle in India too as City Station wagon. A segment which does not exist in India, but things are changing now. The entry of Honda in this segment means they want increase share in 8-12 Lakh segment. However, Honda Shuttle is not in the planning list of Honda Cars India Ltd. to be launched in India this fiscal, but it can be launch in India by 2017.

What we have here today is the Honda Shuttle design that has been patented. Very similar to the JDM model, which means it is going to be a head turner. Pronounced shoulder line with character lines on the side is the IDEA from Mobilio but it has been distinguished. Front-end is all new resembles a bit to the City when it comes to the grill and headlights. Yet again, similar but not identical. However, the bumper has a very busy design with sporty credentials. The Honda Shuttle is based on the City/Jazz platform and this new design could be seen on the facelifts or full-blown new models.

Honda shuttle will be a five seater and has it eyes to be the benchmark of that segment which never grown despite many attempt from different manufacturers. Maruti Baleno Altura, Tata Indigo Marina And Skoda Octavia Estate are some of the product that launched in India but did not survive for long.

If it comes to India, it pricing and engine will be similar to the Honda Mobilio. Interiors will see an all new dashboard because the one’s seen on the cars that are based on the Brio platform has been heavily criticized, and the company cannot take the risk of putting the same in the Honda Shuttle.

An Estate leaves no choice, if it fails at first attempt then it’s gone forever like the things happen in past. Pricing is set to start around 8.5 lakhs for base petrol and should run all the way till 15 lakhs and more. Wait for the Honda Shuttle that will could bring life to a new segment in India.
