PT Astra Honda Motors (AHM) showcased the Honda X-ADV at the 2019 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS). For those of you who are not aware the X-ADV, it is a scooter with off-road capability and powered by a 745cc, twin-cylinder engine that was introduced back in the year 2016 especially for the markets of Europe.
The Honda X-ADV gets a rugged yet stylish body and elevated stance that gives it an offroad ready attitude. Not only it looks tough but also is practical at the same time. The X-ADV has a 21 Litre of storage capacity under the seat and also gets a 5-way adjustable windscreen towards the front to protect the rider from windblasts.
Furthermore, it also gets a tapered aluminium handlebar, hand guards, a rally styled instrument cluster and a centre stand. The braking duties are carried by a disc brake towards the front and rear with dual radial-mount four-piston calipers.
A dual-channel ABS is also offered as standard for the safety of the rider. It relies on a 41mm cartridge-type USD fork adjusts for spring preload and rebound damping at the front and spring preload adjustable rear shock unit at the rear.
The Honda X-ADV is powered by a 745cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC 8-valve parallel twin-cylinder engine. This unit produces about 54 hp of peak power at 6,250rpm and maximum peak torque of 68Nm at 4,750rpm. The X-ADV also features Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) that offers two automatic modes plus an MT mode for manual gear changes.
The offroad trait of the X-ADV is enhanced by the use of a G switch positioned on the right side of the instrument panel. Just like any Honda superbike the X-ADV also benefits from Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) that provides traction on slippery roads and provides confidence to the rider.
