Honda Navi dispatches commenced; will spread across various parts of the country only in phased manner

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd (HMSI) has announced the beginning of the dispatching of the Navi scooters in India. The Japanese two-wheeler maker shook the entire auto industry when it launched the ‘new kind of ride’ at the Auto Expo 2016 in early February.

The Navi is designed and developed fully by Honda’s R&D facility in India from the conceptual form to the commercial rolling out of production. According to Honda, it brings ‘Fun’ to the 100-110 cc category with the looks of a motorcycle but purposefully an easy to drive scooter.

In the wake of modernising the way of buying, Honda launched the Navi Booking App and through which the scooter can be pre-registered by customers. In just over a month’s time about 20,000 app downloads had been witnessed in various platforms such as Android, IOS, Windows, etc.

Honda Navi is mainly built to maximise the rider’s freedom and to explore unlimited possibilities by taking the Fun theme to the centre stage whilst infusing innovation and off-the-charts thinking to develop Fun to Ride scooter. The Honda Navi will be available from this month in Mumbai.

Moreover, Honda has conceded that the new-age scooter will be offered only in phased manner. The dealerships will provide new environment and FUNtastic experience to the Indian youth said the company. Within a month of its arrival, over 1,000 bookings have been made through the dedicated application.

The standard Navi model will come at a starting price of Rs. 39,500 (Ex-showroom price, Delhi) and will be sold in five different colour options namely Patriot Red, Hopper Green, Shasta White, Sparky Orange and Black.

It gets powered by a 110 cc single-cylinder engine with HET (Honda Eco Technology) and is tuned to produce 7.83 hp of maximum power output at 7,000 rpm and 8.96 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The powertrain is mated with a V-matic automatic transmission and the top speed is rated at 81 kmph.
