Honda Metropolitan Electric Scooter likely under development to compete against Hero MotoCorp upcoming leap electric scooter – Speculation
For the entire scooter manufacturer in the country, the heat is soon going to be felt as the Honda Metropolitan Electric Scooter is going to be the next entrant in the scooter segment. The Japanese automaker is working on its new electric scooter based on there global Metropolitan Scooter, which is currently sold in many developed countries.

Recently, Honda Motorcycles-Scooters India ltd. submits the patent for its entire new electric scooter which likely means that this patent submission done is that they are preparing against Hero Motocorp’s upcoming Leap. Going through the patent images, one can easily understand that the Honda’s upcoming Electric scooter is based on the Honda’s Metropolitan scooter, which will come powered by a 49cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke petrol mill in many countries. While it will come mated to an automatic V-Matic belt as its transmission unit, it will offer a wheelbase of 46.5 inches.
The twin-down tube fork at its front and single shock along its rear will carry out the Honda Metropolitan Electric Scooter suspension duties. Drum brakes will be offered to do the braking duties at its front and Drum brakes with CBS will be offered along its rear to do the same duties. The scooter will be standing on the 80/100-10 dimension front and rear tire.
When launched, the company is offering many colors like Pearl Blue, Pearl Black, Pink Metallic, Pearl White and White to offer the customers with the variety to choose from. With no mention about the price of the electric scooter, let’s see what the next news from the Honda.
