The Honda Jazz Crossover (codename 2FM) will be showcased at Sao Paulo Motor Show, India launch next year
Honda is planning to launch a range of cars in India, among which an interesting one is the Jazz based crossover, which is dubbed as 2FM. The compact crossover will make its global debut at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in November, 2016. Incidentally, Honda Car India is planning to introduce around 5 new models in the country’s market in coming 12 months.
This car will be based on the Jazz premium hatchback, and it will sport some cosmetic add ons to adorn a crossover look. It might get a rugged front fascia alongside skid plates, plastic claddings at lower body, larger alloy wheel and roof rails. The ground clearance might get uplifted.
The interior might get a sporty colour scheme, with some cosmetic changes. It might get new upholstery and some additional features as well. As we have learnt, the car will be called as Honda Fit Twist in international market, and it has been spotted several times in Brazil. Although the Japanese automaker already sells the HR-V in markets like USA, Japan, Europe; but making this car in India will be expensive, and therefore the car will be pricey in comparison to its competitors.
Therefore the brand has decided to launch an all new vehicle in India, which will be Honda 2FM. It is not clear, if the car will follow the sub-4 metre rule, as the price will depend on the length. Although we will learn about the powertrain later, but Honda 2FM might get a 1.2 litre or a 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol unit under the hood as power source. It would also get a 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine.
Honda is all set to launch the all new BR-V in Indian market in May end. The car was showcased at the recently concluded New Delhi Auto Expo 2016. Post that a new compact crossover in form of Honda 2FM will surely add
some zing to the segment.
