Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) introduced an all-new scooter, dubbed Cliq, in the domestic market back in June and expanded its reach nationwide with launches in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu in the following months. It came as a surprise for many as the 110 cc scooter has been priced very affordably at Rs. 42,499 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It is squarely aimed at utility-based customers wanting to own a comfortable daily ride.
According to the Japanese manufacturer, the Cliq is a ‘revolution for the utilitarian customers’. The significant features Honda boasts about are the ‘Industry first’ special block pattern tyres claimed to give good grip on rough patch of roads. The concept of enhanced utility is said to be from ample under storage seat space, increased load carrying capacity and more legroom with flat and wide footboard. We rode the scooter and came out pleasantly impressed.

The Honda Cliq derives power from the tried and tested 110 cc single-cylinder engine good enough to develop a maximum power output of 7.92 bhp and 8.94 Nm of peak torque. Despite a 3.5-litre fuel tank, Honda claims a riding range of 200 km.
Designed to appeal for both male and female riders, the Honda Cliq has wide seat for better comfort of the rider as well as the pillion. Made available in three colour options – Red, Black and Blue – the Cliq also comes equipped with an optional rear carrier. Honda boldly claims that the deep grooves in the tubeless tyres are solid enough to take on any weather condition.
