2019 Honda City prices are out, as along with the inclusion of a new petrol manual variant, the prices are revised across the range
Honda’s most popular nameplate in India, the City, had a tough 2018 as far as volume sales were concerned. The midsize sedan could only finish third in the segment with a total of 42,045 units against 42,605 for Verna and 50,759 for segment leader Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. While only 560 units differentiated Verna and City, the gap to Ciaz was substantial at 8,714 units.
The Japanese manufacturer has quickly reacted to redeem the City’s sales and introduced a new petrol top-spec ZX manual variant recently. Priced at one lakh lesser than the ZX CVT, the new ZX MT costs Rs. 12.75 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), and Honda says it’s in response to the high demand for petrol variants.
