The new generation Honda Amaze has played a major role in driving the growth for the Japanese brand in May 2018

Honda Cara India has retailed a total of 15,864 units in May 2018, leading to a sales growth of 42 percent compared to the same month last year. This is mainly due to the arrival of new generation Amaze. It features a striking appearance with sleek headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights and edgy bodywork ditching the soft and family-focused front fascia as a response to stylish cars in the segment like Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Tata Tigor.

The other notable exterior changes are LED tail lamps going very well with the rear design, new sporty bumpers up front and rear, thick chrome bar housing the Honda badge and sleeker fog lamps. The overall design makes a strong statement than ever before and is well proportioned. The interiors come with complete makeover while the modernised features list is another plus in its armoury.

To keep up the momentum, the tenth-generation global Civic is waiting in the wings to be launched in India and it is sleeker and bolder in appeal whilst being wider, more spacious and lower than the ninth-gen model with 25 percent increased torsional rigidity. It is already an international success and will be introduced here to strengthen its premium portfolio.

As for the powertrain, our domestic market could get 1.8-litre petrol making 140 hp and 1.6-litre diesel while the brand new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol making 170 hp present elsewhere may not be used. The new 1.6-litre Earth Dreams i-DTEC diesel debuting in the upcoming CR-V could power the Civic as well with local content.
