Honda Amaze Privilege Edition gets revised body graphics, reverse parking sensor and 17.7 cm DIGIPAD infotainment system
Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has announced the introduction of 2017 ‘Privilege Edition’ of its subcompact sedan the Amaze. The Privilege Edition comes with exterior revisions, advanced infotainment system and improved safety features. The Japanese manufacturer is facing heavy competition in the entry-level sedan space from several new competitors like Ford Figo Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo and Tata Tigor.
Moreover, the bestselling Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Xcent received new avatars already leaving the Amaze certainly on back foot. With the arrival of the Privilege Edition, Honda hopes to garner more customers and its time of launch could not get any better. It has also been revealed that more than 2.4 lakh units of this family sedan were sold in the Indian market ever since its market entry in April 2013.
The Honda Amaze ‘Privilege Edition’ is based on Amaze S(O) MT grade which has features like Dual Airbags, ABS (in Diesel Variant) , Power Adjustable ORVMs, Steering Mounted controls, Driver Seat Height Adjuster, Digital AC Controls and Premium Dual tone interiors among others. The limited edition is priced at Rs. 10,000 over the S(O) MT grade and is available at Ex-showroom New Delhi prices of Rs. 6,48,888 for the petrol version and Rs. 7,73,631 for diesel.
The new beige colour seat covers are highlighted by the ‘Privilege edition’ embossed on them while the added centre armrest for the driver is said to provide better comfort. The exterior updates include new body graphics and Privilege Edition emblem to showcase the limited edition’s exclusivity. For the ease of parking, Honda has equipped the special edition with rear parking sensors.
The major inclusion inside the cabin is the 17.7 cm DIGIPAD infotainment system with audio, video and navigation provision. It allows for in-built Satellite Linked 3D Navigation, Internal Media Memory of 1.5GB, Mirror Link support for Smartphone Connectivity and Voice Commands for Media, Navigation and Calling.
Other features include Internet access for Browsing, Email and Live Traffic via optional Wifi Receiver, Smartphone Voice Assistant Activation, Bluetooth for Handsfree Telephone and Audio Streaming Support, USB slots (2 Nos), Micro SD Card Slots for Maps and Media (2 Nos.) & HDMI-IN port and AM/FM Digital Radio Tuner, MP3/WAV, i-Pod/i-phone compatible.
