Honda recently launched the Special Ace edition of the Amaze to celebrate 1 lakh unit sales milestone in just 13 months

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) recently launched the Special Ace edition of the Amaze as the compact sedan managed to cross 1 lakh unit sales milestone in a matter of just 13 months since its launch. Now, the company is also offering a discounts of up to Rs 42,000 on the Amaze to mark this success.

The Amaze managed to have a good interest around it ever since it was launched back in May, 2018, as it crossed the 30,000 units sales mark within three months of its launch, and 50,000 units sales within five months of its launch.

The Amaze also managed to register sales of over 85,000 units in 11 months which is the fastest sales number recorded by any new model launched by HCIL in India. And given the demand for their automatic version of the Amaze, Honda then launched the CVT-equipped top-grade VX variant earlier this year in April.

The Special Ace edition of the Honda Amaze is based on the top-spec VX variant for both petrol and diesel engine-powered versions and aims to offer a sportier appeal thanks to new additions like Front Room Lamp, Door Edge Garnish, an Ace Edition Emblem, among others. This variant is available in Radiant Red, Lunar Silver and White Orchid Pearl colour options.

The Honda Amaze is available in four variants – E, S, V and VX which is common for both petrol and diesel engine options. Speaking of which, the Amaze is powered by a four-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque and a four-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque.

Interestingly, the car offers the choice of a CVT transmission in both petrol and diesel engine options. The Honda Amaze competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor and the facelifted Ford Aspire. The prices for the Amaze start at Rs 5.93 lakh for petrol variants and Rs 7.94 lakh for diesel variants (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi)
