Honda is expected to launch the new Active 6G in India around festive season and it comes with both mechanical and aesthetical changes
Honda Activa 6G has been already spotted testing in India. The new model of the best selling scooter in India is expected to be introduced around the festive season and the company might increase the price of the new model slightly as it comes with some new features along with design tweaks for a fresh look.
The basic design theme has been carried over as the new model gets tweaked headlamp with LED lights. The company has also made some changes for the body panels and the front fender is also new. The handlebar and switchgear are the same as the current model. The Active 6G comes with an updated instrument cluster.
The speedometer is analogue and it gets new graphics while all other information is displayed on the digital screen, which includes odometer, fuel gauge, trip meter etc. The new model comes with the same seat along with grab rails from its predecessor. We can expect some design changes for the rear with updated tail lamps.
One of the major changes on the Active 6G is the introduction of telescopic forks at the front as the current model uses the outdated spring-loaded hydraulic type suspension. The addition of telescopic forks will help the scooter to improve ride quality while the rear retains the same spring loaded hydraulic type suspension.
Honda will introduce alloy wheels on the top-spec model of Active 6G and the company has given black finish for them. The tyre size is expected to be same with 10-inch wheels with 90/100 section tubeless tyres at the front and rear. The company has also given disc brake at the front for the Active 6G as current model get drum brake at front and rear.
The Active 6G will retain the same engine from the current model as the 109 cc single cylinder engine with 8 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 9 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. This engine is mated to an automatic transmission and it is likely to retain same mileage. Honda Activa 6G compete against models like TVS Jupiter.
