Honda 150cc Scooter is most likely made in India with the help of cycle parts from the Activa 125 as most of it seen on this scooter
This well could be the surprise we have been waiting for from Honda. Honda has been heavily banking on scooters for its sales numbers as it sells around almost 3 lakh units in total when it comes to automatic scooters. Honda recently said there are a lot of motorcycles and scooters waiting for at the Auto Expo 2016. This could be it, the cycle parts from the Activa 125 with some desgin clue from PCX150, it look an appropriate 150cc scooter that we have been waiting for. The PCX 150 that isn’t to our market’s taste.
Front apron, headlight and alloy wheels are taken from the Activa 125, After that everything on the side and even at the rear is all new. The well packaged exhaust gives it the more practical look that our market will easily relate to. Telescopic suspension at the front and rear single sided monoshock suspension seen on most scooters is more visible than the smaller scooter that we are used to. The wheels seen are huge and they should be around 14-inch to put all that power down.
Engine wise, expect a 149cc engine making 12-13 BHP of power and 12-13 NM of torque from a 2-valve, air-cooled engine that will be mated to a CVT gearbox. This could be the ideal scooter for power hungry enthusiasts and could well meet the demand there is in the market to a certain extent for a 150cc scooter as it can be everything for a consumer right.
Expect the launch to happen in 2016 itself if all goes well and accordingly as said above. Pricing could be just around Rs. 70,000 mark and could be the next thing from Honda and for the market as well.
Navi name for this scooter? We think that is something else waiting for us.
