The recently introduced Xtreme 200S, Xtreme 200T and the Xpulse 200 share the same powertrain and platform with the Xtreme 200R

Hero Motocorp has finally launched the long-awaited Xpulse 200 and the Xpulse 200T in India. The Xpulse 200 will attract the attention of those customers who are looking for a cheaper alternative to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The Xpulse 200T, on the other hand, is a more road biased tourer that will lock its horns with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

However, there was another surprise that Hero also stored for their customers. The Homegrown two-wheeler manufacturer introduced a third motorcycle called Xtreme 200S at the same event which is basically a faired variant of the Xtreme 200R launched last year.

That said, we will be comparing all these three recently launched motorcycles against each other on the basis of their styling, engine, suspension, brakes and prices. We will also provide our verdict at the end that will help you choose between the three motorcycles. So without wasting any more time let us get straight into the details.

Let’s start with the Xpulse 200 first. The Xpulse 200 like we already have mentioned earlier is the successor of the popular Impulse 150. The motorcycle definitely offers a lot more than its predecessor besides a more powerful engine. The Xpulse 200 shares its platform with the Xtreme 200R but it gets a long travel suspension setup that will easily soak up bumps and offer a plush ride even when the tarmac gives up on the rider.

The front profile is dominated by a beak, stylish round full LED headlamp, followed by a full-digital LED instrument cluster with Bluetooth compatibility. This instrument cluster offers turn-by-turn navigation, service reminder, call alerts, and an eco feature as well. The motorcycle also gets an impressive ground clearance, swept up exhaust, 21-inch wheels at the front and 18-inch wheels at the rear shod with Ceat Gripp tyres. To protect the engine from getting damaged the motorcycle also gets a sump guard as well, the knuckle guards are most probably also offered as standard.Hero Xtreme 200S Vs Hero Xpulse 200 Vs Hero Xpulse 200T

The Xpulse 200T, on the other hand, is a more road biased motorcycle and is meant for long distance touring. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends from the Xtreme 200R wrapped with road biased tubeless tyres from MRF and conventionally mounted exhaust. The riding ergonomics is also relaxed on this motorcycle.

The Xpulse 200T shares the same LED headlamp, taillamp and the digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth with the Xpulse 200. Both the Xpulse 200 and the 200T sport a fuel tank capacity of 13 litres.

We all were surprised when Hero added the Xtreme 200S to the lineup as well. The Xtreme 200S is basically the faired variant of the Xtreme 200R which takes some of its styling inspiration from the HX 250R concept showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The motorcycle gets a single LED headlamp towards the front instead of the twin headlamp setup seen on the concept.

The Xtreme 200S also gets an additional full fairing which goes well with the overall styling. However, we would have really appreciated a dual headlamp setup on the motorcycle. The Xtreme 200S also shares most of its parts with the Xtreme 200R and the Xpule 200T including the braking hardware, alloy wheels, and the fully digital instrument cluster.

The seats and split grab rails at the rear are also shaed with the Xtreme 200R as well. This motorcycle too shares the same alloy wheels and tubeless MRF 100/80 rubber at the front and 130/70 rubber at the rear.
