Hero MotoCorp has launched the all-new Xtreme 200S. It is a fully-faired bike based on the naked Xtreme 200R and offers a range of unique features. The bike will take on the likes of Suzuki Gixxer SF155 and will also compete with the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 in the market. How do both the bikes compare on the paper? Let’s find out:

Hero Xtreme 200S Vs Suzuki Gixxer SF Design

Both Hero MotoCorp Xtreme 200S and Suzuki Gixxer SF look modern and are quite aggressive in their ways. The Xtreme 200S offers a sleek headlamp at the front with a dark visor on top that adds a sporty look to the bike. The fairing design of the Xtreme 200S is quite sharp and gets deep creases that seamlessly merges into the chiselled fuel tank of the bike.

The lower part of the motorcycle of the Xtreme 200S gets a stylish cowl, and the fairing itself is in two-colour tone. At the rear, the Xtreme gets an X-shaped LED tail lamp, and the rear cowl is also dual-tone with black inserts just below the grab rail. The Suzuki Gixxer SF takes inspiration from the high-end bikes like GSX-R1000 and the Hayabusa. The Hayabusa sports tourer inspires the headlamp of the Gixxer SF.

The motorcycle gets a stylish fairing with a vent in the middle for air inlet. The Gixxer SF’s tank is much more aggressive and muscular with deep creases on it. Apart from the fairing, the body of the Gixxer SF gets the black base colour that adds a dual-tone sporty feel to it while the rear gets a triangular shaped tail lamp. The Suzuki Gixxer SF gets a unique looking one-into-two exhaust muffler that looks very muscular while the Hero Xtreme 200S gets regular looking all-black exhaust. Looks are definitely subjective but Gixxer SF has the authentic styling.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF is powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled 155cc engine that generates a maximum power of 14.6 PS at 8000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. It gets a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The Hero Xtreme 200S gets powered by 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 18.4 PS at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 17.1 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

It also offers a 5-speed transmission as standard. Hero only offers a carburetted engine with the Xtreme 200S while Suzuki also offers a Fuel injected version. The FI version of the bike produces a maximum of 14.8 PS and 14 Nm.

Hero Xtreme 200S offers a range of first-in-segment features. Hero has equipped the bike with features like full LED headlamp and tail lamp, a fully digital instrument cluster, engine kill switch, 7-step adjustable rear mono-suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and dual disc brakes with single-channel ABS.

The fully-digital instrument cluster is Bluetooth enabled and offers features like turn-by-tune navigation, gear indicator, trip meters, service reminder, call alert and text alert.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF also offers a fully-digital instrument cluster. However, it does not gets any Bluetooth connectivity.

The bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels too. However, the headlamp and the tail lamp are conventional and not LED. With Bluetooth connectivity and other contrasting features, the 200S comes on top in this regard.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF carburetted is priced at Rs 97,000, ex-showroom, which is only Rs 1,500 cheaper than the Hero Xtreme 200S while the FI version of the bike is priced at Rs 1.08 lakh. The Xtreme 200S offers more equipment and is more powerful and torquier than the Gixxer SF while price difference between both the motorcycles’ carb variants is very marginal. On paper, the 200S definitely comes on top.
