Hero XPulse Adventure Bike will likely launch in India in August 2018 with a frugal and fun-to-ride 200 cc engine making around 20 bhp

Hero MotoCorp unveiled its XPulse adventure motorcycle at the 2017 EICMA show in Milan, Italy a few months ago. Though there are currently limited official information available at the moment, one thing that surprised us the most was the earlier rumour suggesting that the motorcycle was fitted with a 200cc engine and it was the same unit that will run the new Xtreme 200S.

It turns out the speculations have come true. The Hero XPulse is basically an extension of the Impulse umbrella and it was only showcased in a concept. The motorcycle will make it into the production lines with little changes though as a market launch is expected around August 2018. It is expected to make its local debut at the upcoming Auto Expo next month in near production form.

The reason being Royal Enfield Himalayan is currently considered as a proper adventure tourer and sits at the entry-level of the off-road biking segment in India.

Hero XPulse India Launch, Price, Engine, Specs, Features, Top Speed, Mileage 2Hero MotoCorp should not delay the launch of this bike in India as like other concepts that failed to materialise into road-going versions. The reason we are saying is that Hero MotoCorp is already very late in the launch of its multiple products like HX250R, water cooled engine equipped Hastur and the Xtreme 200S.

Despite being a purpose-bred vehicle, Hero seems to be having its usual traits intact as it will be tuned for better fuel economy as well as performance. The off-roader will use a 200 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that should produce around 20 bhp but the highlighting fact is that it will weigh as little as 140 kilograms.

Hero XPulse India Launch, Price, Engine, Specs, Features, Top Speed, Mileage 1The lower kerb weight against Royal Enfield Himalayan’s 186 kg will put it at an advantage as the power-to-weight ratio will be more despite being 4 bhp short of power. It will subsequently aid in agile handling characteristics and moreover would keep the price range as affordable as possible. It is expected to be priced between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom), more than Rs. 60,000 cheaper than the Himalayan, and would appeal for masses.

The production version of Hero Xpulse has all the ingredients to trigger a highly accessible entry-level adventure segment in India and will be aiming to outcast the failures of Impulse which entered the market way ahead of time with a 150 cc engine and appreciable off-roading capabilities.
