The scooter segment in the Indian two wheeler market is booming in recent times. Several two wheeler makers are introducing new models and today Hero Electric has unveiled its new electric scooter called NYX. Interestingly, the Hero Electric NYX will be exclusively available only on Paytm. This is the first time an electric motorcycle company in India launched a product online and the NYX will be sold online as well.
Hero Electric NYX is the cheapest offering from the electric two wheeler maker. The NYX comes at a price of Rs. 29990 (on road). The electric scooter will go on sale from 5th June, 2016, which is marked as the World Environment Day. Clearly Hero Electric is trying to deliver the message of environment friendliness of the NYX scooter. More over, within first two weeks of the launch, Hero Electric is planning to sell 1,000 units of NYX.
The Hero Electric NYX is powered by a 48V battery which generates power for a 46 magnetic poles engine. The engine churns out 250W of power. It also comes equipped with a high torque controller. The electric powertrain capacitates the electric scooter to run up to 70 kmph with a fully charged battery. Top speed for the Hero Electric NYX is 25 kmph.
The Hero Electric NYX scooter comes featuring anti theft safety alarm, 3 body colour options, 25 litres of storage capacity and split seats. Hero Electric claims the paint of NYX is scratchproof. It gets a generous amount of ground clearance at 140 mm. The suspension duty is done by telescopic fork at the front while the rear sports swing arm linked rear monoshock absorber. The scooter rides on 10 inch wheels. Initially the electric scooter will be available in 15 cities across India, and later the NYX will be available in all the Hero Electric dealerships across the country.
