Hero MotoCorp clocks 674,961 unit sales in September, marking 11% rise

Hero MotoCorp is flying high right ahead of festive season. The two-wheeler manufacturer has recorded it highest-ever monthly sales with 674,961 units in September 2016, which also marked an 11% rise in sales. Previous highest-sales record for the company was 639,802 units in October, last year. Not only that, Hero MotoCorp has registered its highest ever half-yearly sales between April and September, 2016 with 35,68,887 units sold. In the corresponding period last year, it sold 34,07,652 units.

Festive season always boosts sales for every automaker, and as the Indian two-wheeler market is growing rapidly, the brands focus to capture a large chunk of the market at this time. Hero MotoCorp being the leader in the bestselling commuter motorcycle segment, with its Splendor series and other models has crossed 6-lakh sales in just four months of 2016.

Incidentally, Hero MotoCorp is the market leader in the 100cc and 125cc segment with market share of 65% and 55% respectively. The company has launched a range of models in last few months, with the Hero Achiever 150 iSmart being the latest inclusion in the lineup.

Earlier this year, Hero MotoCorp launched Splendor iSmart 110, which came after the Splendor iSmart 100 was discontinued. The 100cc – 125cc commuter segment in Indian domestic market the bestselling segment, and Hero Splendor Series with its range of models in the segment has proved to be most popular and bestselling ones for quite long time.
