Hero launched the Maestro 125 alongside their entry-level offering – the Pleasure Plus in India recently. The scooter was first showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo where it attracted quite a lot of attention because of its sharp and sporty styling.
The Maestro Edge 125 is the flagship scooter offering from Hero which sits on top of the Hero Destini 125 that was launched not so long ago. What makes the Maestro stand out in the crowd is the fact that the scooter is also offered with a fuel injected variant and Hero’s patented i3s technology as well.
That said, we are comparing the new Hero Maestro Edge with the popular TVS NTorq 125 and the Honda Grazia 125 here based on their styling, engine, brakes, suspension, and pricing. We will also add our verdict, in the end, to help you choose the right scooter amongst these contenders.
Hero Maestro Edge 125 vs TVS Ntorq vs Honda Grazia Styling
The newly launched Maestro Edge 125 shares its underpinnings with the Maestro 110 but looks a lot sportier and also offers plenty more features at the same time. The scooter retains the same headlamp and taillamp from the former scooter. However, there are certain changes that Hero has made to make the scooter stand out from the other. On the front apron, the Maestro Edge gets triangular shaped LED DRL lamps. It also gets new colours with dual tone colour options.
Hero has also carried forward the same digital-analogue instrument cluster which you will also find in the Maestro Edge 110. The scooter also gets a smart key with which you can unlock the seat lock and access to the under seat storage and also open the fuel lid positioned in between the split taillamp area easily. The under seat storage area provides a decent amount of space and you also do get a light and a USB charging slot as well.
The TVS Ntorq has impressed almost everyone with its sporty styling and abundant features. The TVS Ntorq gets a sporty front apron integrated with halogen headlamps. The headlamp also gets LED DRL lamps as well. The indicators are positioned on the handlebar fairing though. The scooter gets an advanced full digital instrument cluster that can also be connected to the rider’s Smartphone with the help of Bluetooth.
The Ntorq is the only scooter which also gets an engine kill switch as well. The scooter also gets a stubby looking exhaust that goes well with the overall sporty theme of the scooter. Towards the rear, the scooter also gets a T-shaped LED taillamp. The Ntorq also offers a decent amount of under seat storage and also offers a USB charging slot as well.
You cannot completely ignore the fact that the Honda Grazia takes some of its styling cues from the Dio. This is the only scooter amongst the trio to feature a full LED headlamp and taillamp. It also gets plenty of edgy looking panels which add a sporty look to the scooter. Just like the Ntorq the Grazia too gets an all-digital instrument cluster.
The footboard area is also reasonably spacious and there is also a hook to carry a bag. Just like the Ntorq and the Hero Maestro Edge the scooter also offers decent under seat storage as well. It also gets a small glove box that also gets a USB charger as well.
Hero Maestro Edge 125 vs TVS Ntorq vs Honda Grazia Engine
The Maestro Edge 125 is powered by a 124.6cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder OHC unit that produces about 9.1 Bhp of peak power at 7,000 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. This is the same engine that also powers the Destini 125 as well. However, Hero does also offer a fuel injected variant as well with the Maestro Edge 125 that makes it the first scooter in India to have that feature. Besides all that the Maestro Edge 125 also gets Hero’s patented i3s technology as well.9
The TVS Ntorq is powered by a 124.7cc, 4 stroke, Single Cylinder, Air Cooled, OHC unit. This unit produces about 9.4 ps of peak power at 7,500 rpm and 10.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a CVT gearbox.
The Honda Grazia, on the other hand, is powered by a 124.9cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces about 8.5bhp of peak power and 10.5Nm of peak torque. The engine is also paired with a CVT gearbox.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 vs TVS Ntorq vs Honda Grazia Suspension and brakes
The newly launched Maestro Edge 125 uses conventional telescopic forks at the front and Single Coil spring hydraulic type shock absorbers at the rear. The scooter relies on a 130mm drum brakes at both ends to bring it to a halt but Hero also offers a front disc brake as an option.
The TVS Ntorq uses the same telescopic suspension setup towards the front and gas-filled Hydraulic Type Coil Spring Shock Absorber at the rear. The scooter relies on a 220 disc at the front and 130mm drum brakes at the rear.
The Honda Grazia uses a standard telescopic front fork and a spring loaded hydraulic suspension at the rear. The scooter relies on a 130mm drum brakes at both ends and an optional 190mm front disc brake as well.
Hero Maestro Edge 125 vs TVS Ntorq vs Honda Grazia Price
The newly launched Hero Maestro Edge 125 is priced at Rs 58,500 (ex-showroom) for the carburettor (drum brakes), Rs. 60,000 for the carburettor (disc brakes) variant and Rs. 62,700 (ex-showroom) for the fuel injected variant.
The TVS Ntorq is priced at Rs. 59,900 (ex-showroom). The drum variant, on the other hand, is priced at 58,252 (ex-showroom).
The Honda Grazia is priced at Rs. 60,723 (ex-showroom) onward the top end variant is priced at Rs. 65,095 (ex-showroom).
Spec Comparison Verdict
The Hero Maestro Edge 125 is definitely one premium looking scooter which is powered by a smooth and refined engine. What keeps this scooter ahead of its rival is the fact that this is the only scooter in the Indian market that is also offered with a fuel injection technology and the i3S engine start/stop system.
As far as some of its other features are concerned, the Maestro Edge gets pretty basic features and misses out on a LED headlamp or a fully digital instrument cluster that its rivals have to offer. The expansive range should help in garnering customers over competitors.
