Hero Destini 125 Launched In India In 2 Variants; Price Starts At Rs 54,650

Hero Destini 125 is introduced in Lx and Vx grades to compete against Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125

Hero MotoCorp has today launched the Destini 125 marking its foray into the 125 cc scooter segment with a starting price of Rs. 54,650 for the Lx variant and it goes all the way up to Rs. 57,500 for the Vx grade (both prices, ex-showroom). The largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the country has made the Destini 125 available for customers just in Delhi-NCR from tomorrow onwards.

The upmarket scooter’s footprint will be expanded across different parts of India in the next few weeks and prices will be announced accordingly. The Hero Destini 125 made its public premiere at the 2018 Auto Expo in February as the Hero Duet 125 alongside Maestro Edge 125 and we were the first to uncover its production name some months ago.

It has definitely entered India with a commendable price range and with four colour options such as Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver White. The market positioning meant Hero Destini 125 will rival the likes of Honda Activa 125, Suzuki’s popular Access 125, Vespa LX 125 and others in the vastly growing space.

Hero has utilised its patented i3S idle start/stop technology in the Destini 125 for increased fuel efficiency. It takes power from a 124.6 cc single-cylinder air-cooled ‘Energy Boost’ which is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 8.70 bhp at 6,750 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque delivered at 5,000 rpm. It helps the scooter to achieve claimed top speed of 85 kmph.

The Hero Destini 125 has a clean profile with halogen headlamp assembly connected by V-shaped chrome finish and chrome garnish on the sides with upmarket seat covers and cast wheels. Regularly, it gets two-tone mirrors, remote key opening, tubeless tyres, external fuel filler cap and a semi-digital instrumentation. The Vx variant, on the other hand, gains boot light and mobile charger in addition.

It measures 1,809 mm in length, 729 mm in width, 1,154 mm in height and has wheelbase of 1,245 mm. The Destini 125 tips the weighing scale at close to 112 l=kilograms and has fuel tank capacity rated at 5.5 litres with 155 mm ground clearance. It uses 130 mm drum brakes up front and rear, and has Integrated Braking System as standard courtesy of stringent safety regulations. It rides on telescopic front and spring loaded hydraulic damper rear suspension unit.
