Skoda reduced pricing of Superb range by up to 7.3% in Mumbai; Octavia draws maximum price cut of Rs. 1.75 lakh
Czech auto giant Skoda is the latest automaker present in India to join the bandwagon of the brands reduced pricing of their cars to pass on the benefit of GST to the customers. Skoda has slashed pricing of its cars by up to Rs. 2.4 lakh in Mumbai. The Octavia model range has received price cut by up to 7.4%, while the Skoda Superb model range has become cheaper by 7.3% in Mumbai.
The Superb sedan range has received a price cut by up to 2.4 lakh on its ex-showroom, price in Mumbai. Speaking about the Octavia sedan range, price cut for this model ranges up to Rs. 1.75 lakh on the ex-showroom price in Mumbai. The company expects with this price cut it will be able to fetch more sales figure in the highly competitive market, where the band is yet to grab a good share.

Under the new tax system, luxury cars, large vehicles with length more than 4 metre and engines bigger than 1,500 cc draw lowered total tax incidence compared to their previous total tax amount. Currently they attract 15% cess over and above the 28% GST compared to pre-GST 55.30% total tax amount. This has prompted the brands to offer more price cut on their flagship models with bigger engines.
Skoda is aiming to increase its market share in the country by introducing stylish design language to its cars, along with more premium features and powerful engines. The brand targets to increase its market share in the UV segment by launching models like the Karoq (New generation Yeti), Kodiaq.

The Skoda Kodiaq premium SUV that is the flagship SUV from this brand is expected to arrive here sometime in September. Currently, it is preparing to launch the all-new Octavia facelift on 13th July that comes incorporating sharper design and more upmarket features enhancing the appeal.
