Renault reduced pricing of Kwid hatchback ranging between Rs. 5,200 and Rs. 29,500 to pass on the GST benefit to buyers

Renault has reduced pricing of its very popular Kwid hatchback in order to pass on the GST benefit to the customers. After the price cut, the hatchback is now priced from Rs. 2.62 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) as it has become cheaper by Rs. 5,200 – Rs. 29,500, depending on different variants and state of purchase.

The Renault Kwid has already become one of the bestselling cars in the domestic market and it has helped the French automaker to become one of the major brands in the country’s highly competitive auto market. Thanks to the high sales of the Kwid, India has become one of the first five global markets for the automaker. Within very short span after launch, Renault Kwid has received massive positive response from the buyers.

Initially launched with a 799 c three-cylinder, SCe petrol engine Kwid later received a slightly larger and more powerful 999 cc three-cylinder petrol motor. Not only that, its AMT gearbox along with the 5-speed manual gearbox has helped in increasing the appeal of this hatchback.

Renault has also launched a new variant of the car christened as Climber that is based on the 1.0-litre model and sports an AMT gearbox. The French auto manufacturer has also said that it will bring more new variants of the hatchback in the country in near future. The Kwid competes with rivals like Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Hyundai Eon and Datsun RediGo as well. Since launch in 2015, the hatchback has sold more than 1.75 lakh units here.

The Renault Kwid not only introduced a new trend in the market by adopting a tough SUV like design.
