GST: Renault Duster Is Now Cheaper By Up To Rs. 1.04 Lakh

Renault has reduced pricing of its cars by up to 7% to pass on the GST benefit to the customers

Renault India has announced a price cut ranging up to7% across its entire portfolio to pass on the benefit of GST to the customers. With this, the French auto manufacturer has joined the bandwagon of the other automakers present in the country that have slashed the pricing of their cars after GST rolled out on 1st July 2017.

As under the new tax system bigger cars and SUVs have been benefitted the most, Renault Duster RXZ AWD model comes with major price cuts ranging between Rs. 30,400 and Rs. 104,700. The Renault MPV on offer in the country Lodgy too comes much cheaper thanks to GST. Pricing of the Renault Lodgy Stepway RXZ (7-seater) has been reduced between Rs. 25,700 and Rs. 88,600. However, the price reduction amount varies across states and on variants of the models.

The French auto major has seen immense success with its small SUVish hatchback Kwid. This car too is much cheaper now thanks to the new tax system, as the Kwid Climber AMT has received price cuts ranging between Rs. 5,200 and Rs. 29,500.

Apart from offering price cuts on its cars, Renault India believes this new tax system will be much more helpful for business in the country in future. It also believes that with the reduced pricing, the company will be able to grow its market share, as the sales of Renault models are expected to get a major boost.

Duster and the Kwid have given the Renault much needed success in the Indian market. The company is expected to bring the Duster facelift in near future, while it has also committed to roll out two models per year based on the Kwid hatchback. Apart from that, it is now gearing up to launch the Kaptur SUV in the domestic market in August 2017, while expansion of dealership network is also on card. By the end of this year, Renault aims to increase its retail network to 320 outlets across the country.
