Ford Figo and Aspire now come with discounts ranging between Rs. 10,000 – Rs. 20,000; EcoSport is offered with discount of up to Rs. 30,000
Ford India is offering discounts on the Figo hatchback, Aspire compact sedan and EcoSport compact SUV to pass on the benefits of Goods and Services Tax (GST) that is to be rolled out from 1st July this year. The Ford Figo and Aspire draw discounts ranging between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 20,000. On the other hand, Ford EcoSport buyers can avail discounts between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 30,000 depending on different variants.
With the discounts applied, Figo hatchback is currently priced between Rs. 4.75 lakh and Rs. 7.73 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), while its compact sedan sibling is available with a price range of Rs. 5.44 lakh – Rs. 8.28 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Ford EcoSport comes priced between Rs. 7.18 lakh and Rs. 10.76 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Ford has earned positive response with its Figo hatchback and Aspire compact sedan, but these cars are yet to fetch desired sales result. Now, with discounted price and GST to be implemented the reduced pricing is expected to lure more customers. EcoSport is undoubtedly one of the popular products in its category and the discounted pricing will help it to grab attention of more buyers for sure.
Not only Ford India, but several other auto majors are also offering discounts on their products to pass on the benefit of GST to the customers. According to the new tax system under GST, larger cars will become cheaper compared to their current pricing, while the smaller cars will draw price hike.

Larger cars are positioned in the GST slab of 28% with the cess ranging between 1% and 15%. Small petrol vehicles with engine capacity of less than 1,200 cc attract 1% cess and diesel cars with engine displacement of less than 1,500 cc will draw 3% cess. Large vehicles with 1,500 cc and above capacity and SUVs with length more than 4 meter will be slapped with 15% cess.
