Most Fuel Efficient Range Rover Sport with 16.14 kmpl is powered by the 2.0-litre Ingenium making 240 horsepower and massive 500 Nm of peak torque
Land Rover has revealed a new variant of the Range Rover Sport SUV and it has a highlighting factor to lure the customers in the UK. It is the most fuel efficient version ever thanks to the addition of the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel motor to the existing engine line-up.
It is offered from the MY2017 Range Rover Sport as the 2.0-litre engine is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 240 horsepower and a massive 500 Nm of peak torque. Jaguar Land Rover has managed to eke out more power from the small displacing engine ensuring two advantages.

One is the fuel economy and the other is quick acceleration time. The 2.0-litre Range Rover Sport can do standstill to 100 kmph in just eight seconds while most importantly returning a fuel economy of 45.6 mpg (16.14 kmpl) on the combined EU cycle. The small capacity engine does help emit lesser CO2 as it is rated at 164 g/km.
While admittedly the ‘Sport’ badge doesn’t comply with the size of the engine as opposed to the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 mill in the range-topping models, it will be quite appealing for the customers seeking a good compromises between power and frugality. The buyers in the UK market can choose for the 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine as an alternative as well.

The same unit can be found in other models across the portfolio as JLR tries to make use of the Ingenium family’s full potential. It can develop a power output of 340 hp and 450 Nm of peak torque and can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in a highly impressive 7.1 seconds. The carbon emission is claimed at 243 g/km.
Besides these engines, the British-spec 2017 Range Rover Sport will get additional safety features and tech add-ons. Some of the important equipment includes Blind Spot Assist, Intelligent Speed Limiter and Advanced Tow Assist. Inside the cabin, the latest 10-inch InControl Touch Pro infotainment system will have simplified operating options.
