The electric vehicle revolution is not limited to cars as bike and commercial vehicle manufacturers are also working on this technology to reduce pollution. We have already seen futuristic trucks from established manufacturers like Volvo and Mercedes Benz along with concept from Tesla also.

Now Ford is also joining the battle with new Wild F-Vision Electric Semi-Truck, which made its global debut at 2018 IAA Commercial Vehicle show in Hannover, Germany. The concept truck was designed and developed by Turkish design centre of Ford.

The Wild F-Vision comes with level 4 autonomous truck technology and it is compliant with the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council’s autonomous drive road plan for heavy commercial vehicles. The concept truck can drive without any human help but if needed, the driver can take over the control from the computer.

Like most of the concept models, this one also comes with the camera instead of conventional rearview mirrors. Ford has also given internet connectivity with the Wild F-Vision as it will help the truck to be connected with the technical centre always and if any problem occurs, then it can be resolved remotely.

One of the unique features of Wild F-Vision electric semi-truck is that the windows can be automatically tinted as it can adjust depending on the sun’s brightness and it can be used to increase or decrease drivers view of the surroundings. The window tinting can also match the colour of the truck.

The concept truck is designed to reduce drag as it comes with a patented trailer hitching system, which reduces the gap between trailer and cab at highway speeds. The Wild F-Vision design took inspirations from comic book characters and we can expect the production version to be revealed by the end of this decade.
