Ford set to sell 2 Lakh performance cars by the end of 2016; the most popular cars are Focus RS and the sixth-generation Ford Mustang

Ford Performance is seeing good fortune around the world. The company is set to sell more than 2 lakh units of performance cars around the world, by the end of this year. The most popular model from the Ford Performance is the latest Focus RS. The American automaker claims, this car has sold out in every region around the world.

Talking about other models, the sixth-generation Ford Mustang is doing very well, as the car has became the bestselling sports car in several countries, and in some regions across the world as well. The company is experiencing good result with the Shelby GT350 and the GT350R also, specially in the North American market.

The Ford Performance is expecting even more increased sales for its range of cars in the upcoming months. The company is all set to launch the new generation F-150 Raptor in US later this year; and it will go on sale in China later. The 2017 Ford GT is also seeing success, as around 6,500 potential customers have already applied for the car. Also, the American company is expected to launch 12 new performance cars by the end of this decade.

In India, Ford launched the Mustang GT earlier this year, which was showcased at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo, in February and grabbed everyone’s attention. Launched in mid July, the first batch of the car was sold out in just 15 days. Ford India launched the Mustang GT in India at a price of Rs. 65 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The Ford Mustang GT takes power from a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, under the hood. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and it churns out 395 BHP of peak power and 515 NM of peak torque. It can accelerate 0 – 100kmph in just 4-seconds, while the top-speed for the car is 250kmph.
