Ford is testing the upcoming Figo facelift for the Indian market, launch is expected to happen in early 2019

Ford Figo is one of the most loved cars by the enthusiasts. The handling and performance of the vehicle attracts a lot of people who love to drive. The Figo is the entry-level vehicle of the American manufacturer in India and takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift. After the launch of the all-new Swift in the Indian market, an updated Figo was evident.

Well, Ford has already started testing the new Figo in the Indian market and it has been caught on camera. Ford has a range of vehicles based on the Figo platform. Sometime back, the manufacturer launched the all-new Ford Figo Freestyle, which is based on the facelifted version of the Figo available in the international market.

Ford also launched the facelifted Aspire, which is also based on the updated Figo. Finally the time has come when the updated Figo will be launched in the market. The upcoming hatchback was caught testing without any camouflage on the Indian roads and all the details have been revealed completely.

It gets a new grille, which is similar to the Freestyle and the Aspire in the Indian market. Also, the front and rear bumpers have been updated with new ones and it also gets a new set of headlamps and front fog lamps, which gives it a fresh look. The spied vehicle also had a decal with “Blu” moniker on it.

It is still unclear what it suggests but it is possible that Ford will use the suffix for its CNG variants. The new Figo will also get updated interiors with a new dashboard, infotainment system and steering wheel. The vehicle will get the same floating-type infotainment system available with the Ford Figo Freestyle.

Ford has updated its petrol engines in the Freestyle and the Aspire. The same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Dragon series petrol engine is expected to be on the offer. The diesel variants would continue to get the 1.5-litre diesel engine unit. Ford may keep offering the 1.5-litre petrol engine with dual-clutch automatic transmission and we may see the sporty “S” variant of the hatchback at a later date.
