Ford Endeavour 2.2L Titanium Gets Sunroof; Priced At Rs. 29.57 Lakh

Addition of sunroof option in Endeavour 2.2L Titanium 4×2 variant enhances the big SUV’s appeal further

Ford has introduced sunroof option to the 2.2-litre engine powered Endeavour Titanium 4×2 variant. The fully-sized SUV comes priced at Rs. 29.57 (ex-showroom, pan India). Introduction of this new feature with lure the customers who seek sunroof in Endeavour, but don’t want to spend 32.09 lakh for the 3.2-litre engine powered Titanium 4×4 variant.

While the 2.2-litre diesel engine powered Ford Endeavour Titanium 4×2 model gets new sunroof option, it comes close to the top-end in terms of features offered. Interestingly, this move comes as the latest update for the Ford SUV in the auto major’s bid to boost sales. The Endeavour competes with Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Previously, the American auto giant has made several price revisions for the car, but couldn’t grab desired sales result.

Initially, Ford launched the new Endeavour with a significant design change and several new features. The car was initially launched in two diesel engine options, a 2.2-litre diesel motor and a 3.2-litre diesel unit as well. The 2.2-litre engine powered model was initially offered in a 4.4-litre drivetrain layout alongside the 4.2 model. With constant revision for the Ford Endeavour, presently the car is available in three trim options only.

Priced between Rs. 25.65 lakh and Rs. 32.09 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the car comes available in trims Trend 2.2L 4×2, Titanium 2.2L 4×2 and Titanium 3.2L 4×4. While a manual gearbox was on offer initially, the auto manufacturer discontinued it at later stage.

Ford Endeavour is presently selling less than 600 units every month in Indian market, while the segment leader Toyota Fortuner sells around 2,000 units per month. Clearly, Ford is struggling to increase the Endeavour’s sales figure despite being a highly capable product with a robust structure and good level of off-roading abilities.

The American automaker is also working on a facelifted version of the Endeavour SUV that is expected to be launched here sometime next year. Test mule of the car has been spotted couple of times already and it likely to get cosmetic changes similar to the latest Ranger.

The Great Ford Endeavour Drive-13Expect it to receive subtle design updates and more new features in order to become more appealing to the buyers. It is currently sold in five colour options namely Sunset Red, Diamond White, Absolute Black, Moondust Silver and Smoke. The Endeavour comes with an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 12.62 kmpl.
