Ford Endeavour registered 102 per cent growth in December, the sales momentum is expected to continue in 2019 with the launch of the facelift model
Ford India sold 658 units of Endeavour in December 2018 and registered growth of 102 per cent as the company sold 326 units during the December 2017. The Endeavour sales have been hovering around 500-600 units for the past 12 months and it is the second best selling product in its segment after the Toyota Fortuner.
The Endeavour also posted Month-On-Month growth of 52 per cent in December as they sold 433 units in November. Ford is offering good discounts with Endeavour and it has helped the SUV to end the year on a positive note. Ever since the launch of the new generation model, the sales of Endeavour have been really good when compared to the previous model.
Ford has already introduced a minor facelift model of Endeavour last year in global markets and it is expected to be launched in India soon. We can expect the introduction of the new model to improve sales of Endeavour as competition is intense with the launch of the new generation of Honda CR-V and Alturas G4 from Mahindra.
MG Motor is also going to launch its new SUV based on Baojun 530 later this year and it is expected to undercut all its rivals. One of the biggest changes on the Endeavour facelift model is the introduction of a new 2.0 L turbocharged diesel engine replacing the current 2.2 L engine with 160 PS and 200 PS 3.2 L unit.
The 2.0 L turbocharged engine will be available in two different power output as the entry-level model will get the less powerful 180 PS and 420 Nm while the top end model will come with 213 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque. The current 6-speed automatic gearbox will be replaced with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Endeavour will come with the option of two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive system. Apart from this, the facelift model comes with minor changes like new front grille, revised bumper, new air-intakes, 20-inch wheel and a new bumper at the rear. The interior will minor changes with the introduction of new features foot-activated electric brake along with new safety features also.
