Ford EcoSport Facelift skipped Sao Paulo Auto Show debut as reports suggest the compact SUV wasn’t prepared for the event

The 2017 Ford EcoSport was supposed to be unveiled at 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show, but the compact SUV was missing at the event in Brazil. Reports suggest that, the car wasn’t ready for the automotive event. While Hyundai unveiled the Creta facelift and Honda also showcased the HR-V at the same event, Ford has just missed the chance to impress the world automotive community with EcoSport facelift.

The American automaker has been testing the EcoSport facelift in Brazil, since March this year. We have seen several spyshots and rendered images, giving us a speculative idea how the car is going to look like. The 2017 Ford EcoSport comes with fully revised front fascia, which incorporates a redesigned hexagonal front grille, sharper new headlights with LED daytime running light and new fog lamps as well.

Side profile and rear fascia of the car is also expected to come incorporating changes. The compact SUV could sport new design alloy wheels and new taillights as well. It is not sure yet, but EcoSport facelift is very unlikely to receive dimensional changes.

Not only exterior, but interior of Ford EcoSport facelift receives a new look as well. It sports upgraded equipments and a new SYNC3 touchscreen infotainment system. The dashboard looks much simpler and minimalist in its refreshed appearance. Quality of seat and upholstery material is expected to be improved, while the cabin comes with better sound proofing.

All-new Ford EcoSport facelift will come powered by the same 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines under the hood. Apart from that, the popular 1.0-litre Ecoboost turbocharged engine will also continue. Expect these engines to come more fuel efficient than before. Also 2017 EcoSport will be equipped with AWD, which will make it the cheapest AWD offering in Indian market. Pricing is likely to be little higher than the existing model.
