Both the Jawa Classic and the Jawa 42 launched in India in Mid-November last year, deliveries to start from last week of this month as officially confirmed

Jawa motorcycles announced their return to Indian two-wheeler market in November 2018 by unveiling a total of three new models – Jawa, Jawa 42 and the Perak Bobber. Jawa already have launched the Jawa and the Jawa 42 priced at Rs 1.64 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

Both the motorcycles have also received an overwhelming response from the Indian motorcycle enthusiast. After a lot of waiting, Mr Anupan Thareja, Founder, Classic Legends Pvt Ltd announced via a tweet recently that they will start the deliveries of these motorcycles from the fourth week of March 2019 onward.

He also included in his tweet that Jawa has kept their promise and are almost on the verge of successfully opening a total of 100 new showrooms across the country before starting the delivery of their motorcycles. The online bookings for both the motorcycles commenced on the day of their launch in November 2018 and were closed on 25th December 2018.

However, the bookings will resume once again after September 2019 after Jawa delivers the first batch of motorcycles to their respective owners. Jawa will be contacting each and every owner individually and will inform them about the delivery date of their motorcycle. Both the Jawa and the Jawa 42 share the same 293cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine.

This newly developed unit is capable of producing about 27 bhp of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox which sends power to the rear wheel. Both the motorcycle shares almost all their parts with each other including the suspension setup and brakes.

Both the Jawa and the Jawa 42 uses a single disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear while a single channel ABS comes as standard. However, Jawa has also introduced a rear disc brake option along with a dual channel ABS setup later for additional safety.
