Fiat Punto Evo and Linea prices reduced by up to Rs. 41,000 and Rs. 57,000 respectively; FCA believes this move will attract more customers
Fiat has reduced the Linea sedan and Punto Evo hatchback’s pricing significantly in Indian market. With the price reduction of 7.3 percent, the Linea sedan currently comes priced between Rs. 7.25 lakh and Rs. 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). On the other hand, the Punto Evo hatchback is priced between Rs. 5.45 lakh and Rs. 7.55 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
While before the price cut the base variant of Linea sedan was priced at Rs. 7.82 lakh, now it comes cheaper by Rs. 57,000. The top-end Linea T-Jet that was earlier priced at Rs. 10.46 lakh and now is cheaper by Rs. 56,000. Therefore, the entire Linea range is now available under Rs. 10 lakh price mark.

Speaking about the Fiat Punto Evo, the base variant of the car is now cheaper by Rs. 41,000 than before. The top-end variant Emotion has price reduced by Rs. 37,000. In September last year, FCA slashed the pricing of its Avventura model when the brand launched the urban Cross. Now with the price slash of Linea and Punto Evo, Fiat hopes to attract more customers towards these models.
In Indian auto market, presently FCA has a total of one percent market share and this move is believed to be increasing that. In India FCA has two brands, the Fiat and the Jeep that was launched in 2016. The company says, that 2017 is going to be a significant year for the latter with the reported introduction of Compass compact SUV.

To boost the appeal of Linea and Punto Evo, the company launched special editions like Linea Royale and Punto Evo Karbon few days back. In fact, Fiat is also preparing to introduce the Fiat Tipo sedan and hatchback in the domestic market sometime in 2018, which will replace the existing Linea and Punto respectively.
