Fiat Abarth Punto and Avventura Abarth have two segment above power and torque, one car is tarmac burner, the other it going to cross forest’s and deserts a lot quicker [Update]
After being spied for a long time and all the details out in the open. The Fiat Abarth powered vehicles are coming to India for the first time ever.
We’ve had hot hatches in the past from Fiat but not with Scorpion badge. The Italian company is finally listening to the enthusiast and launching the Fiat Abarth Punto and Avventura officially in India.
The favorite cars of the masses are the first one to get the Abarth treatment. The 595 was the first one to get this treatment in India and that was the time when Fiat showcased Punto Abarth version. Avventura was a surprise and the next surprise could be the Linea Abarth as well.
Cosmetically, the Punto and Avventura have the same overall design. However Abarth badges, 16-inch Scorpion alloy wheels, chunky pin stripes, new bumpers, chrome exhaust tip, rear spoiler, front and rear foglamps. Abarth stickers and red color ORVM are new additions.
Slight disappointment remains as it still does not get folding ORVM’s and any new features above the normal Fiat Avventura and Punto. Interior wise, you get Abarth badge on steering, blue and red dials and contrast stitching, all black interiors, sporty pedals and new fabric upholstery.
Mechanically, the power comes from the 1.4 T-Jet engine that now makes 145 BHP and 212 Nm of torque for Abarth Punto and Avventura Abarth makes 140 BHP and 210 Nm. Punto delivers 17 km/l efficiency and Avventura delivers 16.3 km/l. Abarth Punto does 0-100kmph in 8.8 sec and meanwhile the Abarth Avventura does it inn 9.9sec. Fiat claims a topspeed of 190 km/hr.
Avventura is available with Hip-hop black and Pearl White. With stunning pricing of 9.95 lakhs for both cars, Fiat has nailed it with the pricing. Fiat should sell this a lot of considering the under 10 lakh pricing benefits from lower tax slab and should find a lot of customers and as for enthusiast, this is cherry on the cake!
